Nature walk: Walk the Coronation meadows

Walk the Coronation Meadows looking for butterflies and other wildlife -you may even spot a harvest mouse! Situated in Horsenden West and bordered by the canal is the Coronation Meadow for Greater London. It contains a mosaic of wildflower meadows, hedgerows and ponds. At this time of year buttercups, vetches, birds-foot trefoil are among the many flowers gracing the meadow and attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinators.
You guide, Martin Smith, was Horsenden’s senior ranger for many years and has unparalleled knowledge of the area.
Some 29 species of butterfly, some rare, can be found here. You can expect to see hundreds of Marbled Whites and Meadow Browns among others.
Meet in the Sensory Garden for a 10.00am start, finishing around 12.00pm.
There is a small charge of £5 per person (children 12 and under free). Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing.
