Volunteer

Volunteering at Horsenden is a rewarding and beneficial experience. Be part of a small, friendly team that will support you in whichever role you choose. Throughout the year you will find a variety of volunteer opportunities – whatever your skill level or ability.

Interested in volunteering?

We’d love to hear from you! Tell us a little about yourself and your interests by emailing volunteering@horsenden.org

Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch to help arrange your induction and first session.

Here are just some of the tasks you can do as a volunteer: planting trees; growing vegetables; clearing ponds; woodland and meadow management; habitat creation; fencing; general maintenance; litter picking; orchard caring; weeding; Saturday shop tending; event stewarding; planting and general gardening tasks.

We provide all tools and equipment but, as most of the work is outdoors, you will need suitable outdoor clothing.

“Outdoors, getting muddy and hanging out with a bunch of like-minded people helping wildlife, what a great way of spending the weekend! I strongly recommend it.”

Karl Howard

“Volunteering at Horsenden kept my sanity during a challenging year. I met extraordinary people doing amazing work. It also helped me to reconnect to Nature, which made all the difference.”

Rina Gioia

If you’re joining us for the first time, we ask that you email volunteering@horsenden.org to arrange an induction at a general session.

After that, we’ll invite you to join the Horsenden Volunteering Community.
