(SOLD OUT) Women and Troy
7 September 2025 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

As war-clouds gather and break over Troy, they threaten to consume the city’s women, including Queen Hekabe, the stalwart matriarch, Cassandra, her prophetess-daughter, and, caught in the crossfire, the Greek Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world.
All emerge from mythology as living, breathing, three-dimensional characters, whose stories are more relevant today than ever – and their increasingly intense and claustrophobic journey has a surprisingly upbeat ending.
Multi award winner Dame Siân Phillips explores the role of Queen Hekabe for the first time, joining Rachel Donovan (The Crown, Call the Midwife) in this emotional rollercoaster based on plays of Euripides, adapted, reconstructed or reimagined by author-director, David Stuttard.
The event includes a Q&A with the performers and writer.
Join us for an outdoor performance in the gorgeous surrounds of Horsenden Farm, in the courtyard of the old farm hayloft and stables.
Doors open at 7pm, with the performance starting at 7:30pm.
Performance lasts approximately 1 hour, no interval. Q&A after the performance with Siân, Rachel and David.
There’ll be cakes and tea, and beer (from Perivale Brewery), and limited seats and benches and hay bales, so please bring picnic blankets or camping chairs if able to. Pop-up canopy tents will be erected if it’s looking like duck-friendly weather.
All profit from the show will go towards supporting the farm and charity Friends of Horsenden. Reduced rate tickets are available, please email friends@horsenden.org to arrange (no questions asked, we’d like this to be accessible to people regardless of their circumstances).
