About Friends of Horsenden

Friends of Horsenden is a local community group and charity that looks after Horsenden nature reserve and Horsenden Farm, in conjunction with Ealing council and the Parks rangers.

The original group “Friends of Horsenden Hill” was formed in the early 2000s and planted the farm orchard, working with ranger Martin Smith.

The more recent Friends group was formed in 2017 by founders Lynda O’Hare and Elsa Pawley, working with ranger Jon Staples.

In 2023 we registered as a CIO charity, to enable us to fundraise and look after the site more effectively.

FoH hosts busy volunteering sessions every week to look after Horsenden, doing conservation tasks to restore or create new habitats for wildlife, caring for the woods and meadows as amenity for public enjoyment, and growing food and practicing regenerative agriculture and traditional, nature friendly forms of management of the woodlands, meadows, and hedgerows. If you would be interested in joining as a volunteer, please get in touch!
